Sankat Mochan Temple  is situated in Shimla District of Himachal Pradesh. This temple is only 6.5 km away from the old bus stand of Shimla.  This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman ji. It is the second most visited Hanuman temple in Shimla, the first one is Jakhu temple. Connection with Neem Karoli Baba or Neeb Karoli Baba

As we all know Neem Karoli Baba or Neeb Karori Baba aka Maharaj Ji,  was a mystic saint and devotee of Lord Hanuman. His stories about the miracles done by him are quite famous on the internet. Many great personalities like Steve Jobs ( Co founder of Apple) and Mark Zukenberg (co founder of facebook) has connection with baba Neem Karoli. 

Once Neem Karoli Baba visited Shimla and spent a few days in the forest area of shimla. During his meditation in this area Maharaj ji got an Instinct that a Hanuman temple should be built on this site. So construction of this temple started in 1962 by Raja bajarang Bahadur and some other followers of Maharaj Ji. Idols of lord Ram-Sita-Lakshaman Lord Shiv and Lord Ganesh were also established in this temple.

How to reach Sankat Mochan Temple Shimla

By train: if you want to travel to Shimla by train. You can take the Shimla-Kalka toy train and get down at Taradevi station which is just 1.6 km from the temple.  

By road: Sankat Mochan temple shimla has very good connectivity through road too. It is just 6.5 km from the old bus stand of Shimla. By Air: Shimla Airport is about 31 km away from Sankat Mochan temple at Jubbarhatti. So you need to take a ride from there which will take you about half an hour to reach this temple.

Timings to visit Sankat Mochan temple shimla

Sankat Mochan temple is open every day for the devotees. You can visit this temple between 6:30 am to 8 pm in the summer. While in winter you can visit this temple between 7 am to 6:30 pm(winters) .
