What is Taiwan travel Authorization Certificate
If you want to visit Taiwan but do not want to apply for a Tourist visa due to any reasons, you can still get the permit to visit Taiwan using Taiwan travel authorization certificate (TAC). Getting this permit is a little easier than getting a tourist visa but you need some additional documents to apply for a Taiwan travel authorization certificate.
Who can apply
The only nationals of the following six countries are allowed to apply for a Taiwan travel authorization certificate for now. These countries are as follows: India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.If you are from one of the above countries you need satisfy some basic and Additional requirements as described below.
Requirements to get Taiwan travel authorization certificate
Basic requirements
- Applicant should posses a valid passport, which should not expire after at least 6 months from the date of arrival in taiwan.
- Applicant must have an Onward/Return air or ferry ticket.
- Applicant should never be a blue collar worker in taiwan before.
Additional Requirements
If your basic qualifications are ok then you should have at least one of the following requirements:
- One of the following documents issued by any of the following country: Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of EU and Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States:
a) valid resident or permanent resident card
b) Valid visa (e_visa is also applicable
c) Resident card or visa that has expired less than 10 years prior to the date of arrival in Taiwan - Entry visa or resident card issued by the ROC at any point in the past 10 years.
Process to get Taiwan travel authorization certificate
If you satisfy all the criterias for Taiwan travel authorization certificate, then you can visit their official website and then you have to fill in your basic information and details of special requirements for TAC. then your information will be processed by the National Immigration Agency, ministry of interior and E-government entry point of Taiwan. And if they approve your application you can print your Taiwan travel authorization certificate which will be required for both arrival and departure inspection in Taiwan. But if your application gets rejected then you should contact the local R.O.C. Embassy/Representative office.
