Story goes like this: Hidimb and Hidimba were brother and sister and used to live in this location of manali. They were from rakshas family. Once pandavas with their mother visited this forest and a fight took place between rakshas Hidimb and bheem, who was the strongest among the 5 brothers. After Bheem defeated Hidimb, he married his sister Hidimba and they had a son named Ghatotkach. Since then Hidimba is worshiped as Devi Hidimba especially in this region. Kamrunag is situated in mandi district of Himachal pradesh. Kamrunag dev trek and kamrunag lake are two great tourist attractions here but you will be surprised to know its connection with mahabharat. Kamrunag dev temple is dedicated to veer Balbrik, who was the son of Ghatotkach. Hatu peak is located in shimla district of himachal pradesh.hatu peak height is 3400 meters and shimla to Hatu peak distance is 67 km. According to the legend of Mahabharat , when Pandavs lost in battle of shatranj they had to live in exile for a period of 12 years plus 1 year in disguise aka Agyaatvas. Rajnaun is in hamirpur distt. Of Himachal pradesh. This place has historical significance because according to locals this is the place where Arjun learned about Chakrvyuh. There are 2 Chakrvyuh one is in Kurukshetra and other one is here in Rajnaun, which is the biggest Proof of mahabharat in himachal pradesh. This temple is a tourist attraction due to the fact that this temple remains submerged under water for about 8 months in a year. According to common belief it is said that this temple was built by Pandavs. They were trying to build a “staircase to heaven” in this location, but they could not succeed to build the staircase. Because this temple remains underwater for most of the year, you can visit the temple on a boat. This temple is very close to another tourist place, Pong dam.

6) Mahunag dev temple karsog mandi himachal pradesh

Mahunag dev temple is situated in Karsog village of mandi district of himachal pradesh. Mahunag dev is believed to be an avatar (incarnation) of Maharathi Karn, who was a great warrior of mahabharat and fought from the side of Kauravs. He was the eldest brother of Pandavs and first son of mata Kunti.According to local lores idol of lord Mahunag was found by a farmer when he was plowing his field.
